Courtland has a small downtown business district with Shands Shopping Center offering the largest retail activities. The town includes in its shopping opportunity: hardware, grocery, florist, discount, auto supply, and other related stores. Several banks serve the town as well as attorneys. Nearby Franklin provides major retail stores including four shopping centers, an historic downtown area and a major Wal-Mart Super Store.
